Hiking boot laces that stay tied.

Non-slip round paracord laces for hiking boots and trail shoes. A wave weave puts small bumps along every lace, so your knot has something to hold on to between the trailhead and the top.

"Put them on hiking boots, stay tied all day."
McCall, after hours of hiking

Retying on the trail gets old fast.

Every step on rough ground jolts the knot, and every swing of your leg tugs the loose ends. Smooth laces start to slide, and a few strides later you are kneeling in the dirt. Rockwear's wave weave adds small bumps that catch inside the knot and help stop that first slip.

They lace and tie like the round laces your boots came with. No clips, no locks and no new knot to learn.

Put them on hiking boots, stay tied all day.

I usually walk at least 5 miles a day wearing my Merrell hiking shoes. The laces never stayed tied for long and sometimes I had stop to to retie the double knot 2 times during my walk. These laces work and no more double knots.

I've had great performance from these shoe laces I put on my hiking boots several months ago, and they actually stay tied, a big advantage over the shoelaces that came with the boots. I think their textured design helps with that. I haven't experienced them shredding or breaking like others have mentioned in their reviews.

These are much better than the laces my columbia hiking shoes came with. The cinch down and stay, so you don't have to make a double bow.

They stay tight when laced. I changed the laces that came with my new REI hiking boots to these laces, so much better.

Nice colors and my hikers stay tied tight no matter what the terrain.

These are exactly what I needed for my Timberland hiking boots! Perfect length and color!

I like the textured surface that keeps them tied better than original laces.

Which length fits your hiking boots?

Count every eyelet and hook on one side of the boot. That number points to your length. Measuring your old lace is the surest check.

Hiking boot lace questions.

What are the best laces for hiking boots?

Most hiking boots use round laces, because they run smoothly through eyelets and speed hooks. Look for a strong lace that holds a knot. Rockwear laces are round, heavy duty paracord with a wave weave that helps the knot stay tied, and every pack includes a spare pair.

Why do my hiking boot laces keep coming untied?

Each step jolts the knot and each swing of your leg pulls on the loose ends. UC Berkeley engineers filmed this in 2017 and found that once a knot starts to loosen, it can fail within a couple of strides. Smooth or worn laces slip sooner. A textured lace and a correctly tied bow both help. Read why laces come untied.

How long should hiking boot laces be?

Count the eyelet pairs on your boot, hooks included. Rockwear's guide suggests 45 inches for 6 pairs, 54 inches for 7 and 63 inches for 8. Measuring the lace you are replacing, tip to tip, is the most reliable check. Open the length chart.

Will Rockwear laces fit my Merrell, Columbia or Timberland boots?

They are standard round replacement laces, so they fit boots with regular eyelets and hooks. Customers have laced them into Merrell, Columbia, Timberland, LOWA and REI boots. Match the length to the lace you are replacing.

Do you make hiking boot laces for women's boots?

Yes. Women's hiking boots take the same round laces. Bright colors like Cotton Candy, Key Lime and Marigold are popular choices, and the 45 inch length matches boots with 6 eyelet pairs.

One small upgrade. A lot of miles.
